9780545284141_p0_v2_s260x420So another six months have passed, and I know many of you are curious about any developments on the movie! Well…

As I’ve warned, it won’t be much of an update. The news is…there isn’t much news.

Another screenwriter has been brought on for continuing script revisions, so although everything continues to move forward, that script is not yet ready for Paramount to make any decision.

This means the movie is not yet green-lit, but it isn’t a no either. It’s merely a “let’s see how the script looks in six months.”

So check back in with me in February and we’ll see! Fingers crossed!

Since there isn’t enough to report on there, let me update you on all other projects that I’m working on, in order of deadlines:

HORIZON 2: The first draft is done and I’m working on rewrites. It’ll be ready long before its October deadline. Book 1 by Scott Westerfeld will come out on Dec 27, and it is SO COOL. Read more about it here.

THE TRAITOR’S GAME 1: I’ve gone through several drafts, but am currently experimenting with a major rewrite idea. If it works, it’ll take me a couple of weeks to revise. I’ll be tight on my October deadline. Also, I need to decide if Traitor’s Game is a series title, or book title. If it’s the former, then I need a book title. Hmm. You can read more about this book here.

WRATH OF THE STORM: This final book of the Mark of the Thief series has my favorite ending I’ve ever written into a book. It’s 100% completed and will be released at the end of January 2017. I’ll talk more about this book soon. Read more about it here:

SUPER SECRET PROJECT 1: All I can say now is that this is another 20th Century historical. I’ve started on the early research, but I’m not yet ready for an outline. I hope the deadline isn’t anytime soon.

SUPER SECRET PROJECT 2: All I can say about this one is that it exists. You can read more about this project nowhere. At least…not yet.

Amber I'm so excited to see all these updates! I just finished The False Prince series and I need more books to fill that void ;) In the meantime, I'll get my hands on a copy of A Night Divided.

message 2: by Nicole (new)

Nicole It must be super exciting to know that a book you authored might become a movie!!! I'm excited and hope it pulls through. The books of the Ascendance Trilogy are on my absolute favorites list.

message 3: by Daleen (new)

Daleen I hope that they do make it a movie! The False Prince and The Runaway Thief were two of my favorite books. (Still waiting for Shadow Throne from my library.) And I CAN'T WAIT for Wrath of the Storm!!!!!

message 4: by Bernadette (new)

Bernadette I hope if they make it a movie they do it well! It was such a thrill to read, having me hooked with the very first sentence (only book ever that I have memorized the opening lines of). It deserves the best efforts to make it great: let them take the time they need to make it. I'm just gonna have to snuggle in with A Night Divided until all of these new reads come. :D

message 5: by Shannon (new)

Shannon I ADORED the Ascendance trilogy! Can't wait to sink my teeth into Mark of the Thief; I've been waiting to get the second and third books... If this series is anything like the Ascendance, I'll need all of them at once to devour. I also can't wait for The Scourge to be released--appropriately close to my birthday! ;D You're a wonderful writer, and if the False Prince does get a movie, I hope it's made exceedingly well. How exciting!! :D

message 6: by Parker (new)

Parker It must feel pretty awesome (even though it's a long process) for you that books that YOU wrote and places and kingdoms that YOU created will be (eventually) in a movie for millions of people to see! From the moment I read the False Prince (especially the last book in the series; The Shadow Throne) I couldn't stop thinking about how good it would be if it was made into a movie. Little did I know... :P

I absolutely can not wait 'til Wrath of The Storm is released!!! I didn't read any of it's prequels so that I could go on a binge read (is that even a thing? xD) once the whole trilogy was released.

...20th century historical? Hmmm... Cold War? WWII? Vietnam/Korean War? The first flying of the airplane? The ending of WWI? Mandela? Jazz? 20th century has some super juicy material! Whatever you write, I know it's gonna be AWESOME!

Roxy The Ascendance Trilogy was a series I consumed as soon as I could get my hands on the next book. Since I work at a library I was able to share these books with several children asking for fantasy and series recommendations. When I saw A Night Divided as your new book I was very surprised by the switch to historical fiction. I enjoy adult historical fiction but have not been drawn to many juv/YA historical fiction books. What a great surprise to read A Night Divided. I am recommending this to children and adults. So well written, I was totally drawn into Gerta's family.
Great movie material
