Check out who I tackled for an interview. Michelle Pillow.
Preorder Release – September 27, 2016
His Metal Maiden (Space Lords)
Dragon-shifter Lochlann left home to avoid a war he didn’t believe in. Now as Captain of The Conqueror, in charge of a misfit crew, all he wants is to return without the label of coward. He’s been offered one chance at redemption: Find Margot, a noblewoman’s missing sister. The only problem is, the woman disappeared years ago, and his closest lead is a stunningly beautiful look-a-like droid crafted in her image. Alexis is programed to be everything he could ever desire, but getting her to reveal her secrets proves to be a true challenge for this alpha male.
Being a base model pleasure droid isn’t as glamorous as it sounds. Alexis can’t remember a time when she wasn’t the property of others. Multiple surgeries, and endless tests, have amounted to a life not worth living. When a pirate crew visits her facility, she sneaks onto their ship. Desperate not to be returned to her owners, she strikes a deal with the alluring captain. Pretend to be Margot in exchange for freedom.
*Series Note: Dragon Lords Fans – Find out what happened to Margot!
**Part of the Dragon Lords World
Now that we’ve seen what Michelle has coming, let’s see how her mind works.
It’s the zombie apocalypse, what’s your weapon of choice?
As much as I would like to think I’m a badass, I have a feeling if the zombies come I’m on the menu. But, saying I survive, my weapon of choice would be Daryl from The Walking Dead. That is an option right?
The aliens are invading, and they are hunky, what do you do?
Hope that they’re wiling to post for book cover pictures, lol. I always need more models.
Tell us about your Dragon Lords series.
I started writing Dragon Lords over 12 years ago, and it’s still one of my hottest selling series. What started as 4 books has grown to include several spinoff series with readers asking for even more. (Much love to my readers!) The great thing about my dragon-shifters is that they are not afraid of commitment. In fact, they tend to fall in love at first sight. Their enemy the cat-shifters (Lords of the Var series), are the opposite. They’ll do everything they can think of to not fall in love. It makes for a fun contrast between the two races.
You have a new science fiction series about Mail Order Alien Brides? What’s the scoop?
Galaxy Alien Mail Order Brides is a connected spin off to the Dragon Lords series. It’s the company that first delivered brides to the Dragon Lords. They will be a set of three novellas releasing Fall 2016.
Do you have a favorite pet?
I can’t pick a favorite out of my fur-babies. I’m an animal lover. Bella Monster, my English bulldog, is currently my office assistant. Readers are always emailing for more pictures of her. I’d get her for you, but it’s her second mid-morning naptime.
3 authors you’d like to meet in person.
Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, and Mary Shelley
What movie/tv show are you looking most forward to?
Z Nation Season 3 (Sept 2016)!!! I recently was on the set as an extra for season three so I’m excited to see how that turns out. Plus, the show is a lot of fun. It’ll be my television acting debut. I had no lines, but I’d like to think Michelle Refugee played a pivotal role. Without me, the others might not have had torches.
You’ve fallen in a vat of radioactive goo, you emerge with what superpower?
The most useful superpower would be the ability to point and magically make things clean. That way I don’t have to stop writing to fold the laundry. Or the ability to type with my mind instead of my hands.
What is something you want to write but are hesitant to tackle?
I love genetically altered military paranormal ops, but since my bestie, NYT Bestseller Mandy M. Roth, has been doing so well in that genre for over 12 years now with her Immortal Ops series, I think I’ll leave the military paranormal special ops to her. Though, I’ve been trying very hard to get a starring role with Striker. I feel she’s starting to give in. LOL
What are you like in person?
I’m quirky and adventurous. Not adventurous in the sense you’ll find me hanging off the top of Everest, but more I’m willing to try new things and am always open to new opportunities. I’ve been on paranormal investigations of museums and vaudeville theatres. I was an extra on Z Nation. I’ve climbed Mayan temples in Belize. I’d say quirky because it seems to describe my sense of humor. I’m also a giant paranormal/scifi nerd, and proud of it.
Thank you for having me!
About Michelle: As long as she can remember, Michelle has had a strange fascination with anything supernatural and sci-fi. After discovering historical romance novels, it was only natural that the supernatural and love/romance elements should someday meet in her wonderland of a brain. She’s glad they did for their children have been pouring onto the computer screen ever since.
Michelle loves to travel and try new things, whether it’s a paranormal investigation of an old Vaudeville Theatre or climbing Mayan temples in Belize. She’s addicted to movies and used to drive her mother crazy while quoting random scenes with her brother. Though it has yet to happen, her dream is to be in a horror movie as a zombie or the expendable screaming chick in the beginning credits. But for the most part, she can be found writing in her office with a cup of coffee in pajama pants.
Come say hello! She loves talking with readers on social media!
