I think politics should be left out of the Goodreads arena. We all can identify bad behaviors and beliefs with those we dislike. I for one, have been appalled with our current leader's lack of care and concern to Israel for the past 7.5 years. And his use of children in his campaigns against his party's opponents is quit Hilter-esk. Just saying we can all see what we want to see, believe what we want to believe, but it shouldn't be on Goodreads.

I agree with Nancy about leaving politics out of Goodreads discussions. That is the very reason I quit going to Facebook; however that is a more reasonable place for such discussions. Goodreads is about books.
I did not post this on Goodreads, but rather on my author blog, which (as I understand it) goes automatically only to my Goodreads friends. The post itself is a reflection of what readers have said about my book, which I believe is very much what Goodreads is all about. I believe I have written a historical novel which turns out to have great relevance today. I'm sorry if this offended you. Thank you for enjoying A FLOOD OF EVIL.

This is Lew's page and, frankly, he is nicer to some of you than I would have been. Why do people feel that their views are so much more important than the writer of the post. I would have said that you are free to post your views on your page and I will continue to post what I want on mine. Instead, he apologized for offending you. If you don't like his post then don't read it. Easy peasy.

I agree with that characterization and posted it on my author blog. I think anyone who reads A FLOOD OF EVIL and is following the presidential campaign will see the model Trump is following.
By the way, I researched and wrote A FLOOD OF EVIL before Donald Trump came on to the American scene. His actions have created the comparison, not my writing.
Lewis, I meant no reflection on your writing. I always enjoy your remarks and reviews on books. I didn't even notice that the post was on your blog. It shows up as a post from you as a friend. This year the entire political scene is so upsetting to me. I'd like to forget it. One of the reasons I read is to escape--I admit it.
