Shout-out for Bursts of Light

Jamie Lackey, one of the co-editors of Triangulation, is running a kickstarter for Bursts of Light, an anthology of positive speculative fiction. This is a good experiment for two reasons: first, collections of positive specfic are rare (though not completely nonexistent) in the field overflowing with dark material; and second, it's an experiment in whether an essentially indie editor could raise enough money to pay pro rates to her authors. If Jamie Lackey succeeds, this bodes well for future such projects showcasing diverse offerings from indie editors.

Says Jamie:
I want to put together a short story anthology of positive speculative fiction. I'd like the chance to create a collection of fantasy and science fiction stories that makes the reader feel better about life, the universe, and everything. I want to see hope overcoming despair, hard work paying off, and the victory of the human spirit. I want to put together a book that can cheer you up when you're having a bad day.
I know Jamie Lackey personally, and I trust her to put together a really great offering. I don't say these things lightly. Jamie has a great eye, is a very attentive reader, and moreover, she understands - and digs -  positive speculative fiction.
