Not Whining

This isn't intended as a whine, but I thought I'd let you know what's going on in my life at the moment.

My husband is suffering a spinal problem that is making it hard for him to walk, impossible for him to drive, and causing him enormous pain. My life has been consumed for the past three weeks with medical appointments and physical therapy and picking up all the minutiae of our daily life that he normally takes care of, all under a huge cloud of worry. In the midst of this, Huckleberry died; my daughter is getting ready to move to North Carolina (I had planned to make the drive with her but now can't leave Steve), and we've also had air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical problems that make it feel like the Fates are throwing mud at us.

I am also trying to keep writing Sebastian #13 and shepherd two books toward publication. Yes, two. I should be able to reveal the cover for WHERE THE DEAD LIE, #12, very soon. And I will also finally, finally be able to talk about that other book--the non-Sebastian one--that I've been hinting about for what seems like forever. Stay tuned.

Kathy The Fates indeed! What else could explain this series of difficulties, challenges, misfortunes even. Yet you are so kind to communicate with us, your fans, that we have more wonderful books from you to look forward to.

message 2: by Pam (new)

Pam Hope life improves. We all have challenges and misfortunes, but we manage to get through them, Hope your husband's condition is quickly cured.

Sherry I think when that much stuff hits at once, everyone is entitled to a little whining. Venting helps relieve stress!

Hopefully, fortune's wheel will turn, and some good luck is on the way.

message 4: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Being one who has chronic pain and one place that is involved is my spine, I am sending your husband and you tons of understanding and an ear if you ever wish to talk. Please hang on. It will get better, I hope. My situation did. Thank you for speaking with us, your readers, and people who care because I do care. Anyone who is going through what I have been through and continue to deal with daily is my friend, and friends care. Sending you many positive thoughts and a big thank you for Sebastian. He helps me to forget. For that, I am very grateful. PS: We join you with AC and electrical difficulties!

Mary Ann So sorry for your difficulties. Have had spinal injections in the past for my own back problems (severe curvature of the spine) - was quite helpful when flare ups occurred and made it painful to walk, etc. He is fortunate to have a strong and competent wife, which I am sure he appreciates. The remainder will take care of itself, with a few phone calls and probably a few dollars. Best of luck to your daughter and her new endeavors. Just keep taking deep breaths and a few moments to yourself now and then. Will look forward to all of your new works.
