Who needs an editor? Probably every writer, myself included.

The truth is, we can be so close to our own work that we see what isn’t there and miss what is.

We think a sentence is perfectly clear when it isn’t. We are certain that we know when to use “comprise” instead of “compose” or “that” in place of “which” but the truth is, we don’t.
