I'm Back

A few days ago I returned home toSouthern California,from my month long vacation,of visiting my relativesand friends from the state I grew up in,Wisconsin. One month was not long enough.A friend of mine,who teaches atBowie State UniversityinMaryland,called me up on the Friday of the last weekend I was in town.He invited me to a party on Saturday,the next day,where I would be able to pick up a guitaror microphoneand play a few songs with other guest.Just an impromptu jam session.I wasn't able to make it because my daughterand her family was coming into town,from the state ofNew York,to see meand I haven't seen her in over six years.But the offer did get me thinking.Thinking about whatBruce Springsteen once called those"Glory Days."I played in a couple of bands with theProfessorwho teaches atBowie State.He dressed like a professor,back in the day,at our gigs too!Wearing a pulled over sweater,while I tried many personas,like the punk rocker with the spike wrist band,sometimes spiked dog collar,and aGreen Berethat.We were good at timesand bad some other times,but we always had fun."Glory Days!"
