Researching THE NIX
Quite a few people have asked me what kind of research went into writing THE NIX, so I've put together a Goodreads shelf that lists all the books that informed my writing.

It's pretty obvious why I consulted most of these books (the stuff about Chicago, the stuff about online gaming). Other titles have a more oblique connection. For example, WE FEEL FINE is an investigation of the emotions that people express on social media, which helped inspire the fictional iFeel app in THE NIX.

Nathan - I just finished your book yesterday afternoon. Excellent read and congratulations on a great achievement. There were so many parallels to my own life that cropped up while walking through your excellent prose. You have tapped into the conscious of many Americans without even know you did so.
