Would you ever so kindly give some inspiring words for people with writer's block / unmotivated to finish work?

Oh I wish I did. It’s a terrible feeling, isn’t it?

There are a lot of different kinds of writer’s block. Maybe you don’t know what comes next in the story (easier to deal with). Maybe you’re wrestling with self doubt (harder). All I can tell you is that I’ve met some brilliant writers and they’ve all struggled with it.

So instead of inspiration, I’m going to give you an assignment: Tonight, put your fingers on the keys and don’t try to tell the story. Just tell yourself ABOUT the story. “I know I want to open with a battle scene” or “I have no idea what the opening scene is but I know they end up at the palace eventually. But how do I get there?” Have a conversation on the page. Break the paralysis between your mind and your hands.

Let me know how it goes.

Bonnie Terry Thank you for this! I will be trying your suggestion. I'm struggling with a revision right now (that's why I'm procrastinating on Goodreads instead of writing)
