Bring us not back, for we came from shaky origins, we came from...

Bring us not back, for we came from shaky origins, we came from unsettled sands. Bring us forward, beyond the toupee’d tornadoes that incite hatred and and isolationism; bring us forward and leave far behind the asinine arguments about antiquated rights guaranteed in amendments written by different men in such different times. Can we start fresh, from this Independence Day and rebuild what we forgot to maintain? We are greatness diluted across mountains, across prairies and swampland. We are a beautiful idea that grew into a beautiful practice before falling behind and falling in love with the sound of our own voice, but there is greatness, still. We are the men and women who have sacrificed their lives to uphold that idea, the bravery to run into the fight, not to conquer but to protect another, sent in by decision makers that never had to run in at all. We are more and standing on the precipice of less, we are more and should become it again.

Happy 4th of July my friends, I hope you are where is where you need to be, precisely and perfectly.
