When most of us think of eating a banana, it’s with the skin peeled – but experts are claiming we’re doing it wrong.
It’s been reported that there are numerous health benefits to be found from eating the peel. The skin contains vitamin C and B6, as well as potassium, magnesium, and fiber, so it’s a terrible waste to just fling the thing in the bin. If that wasn’t enough – it’s also a source of tryptophan, which increases serotonin levels in the brain and helps us get a good night’s sleep.
