~ On Saturday June 18th Trump was speaking at a rally in Las Vegas.
~ According to reports a 20-year old Briton tried to steal a police officer’s gun with the alleged intent to try to shoot Trump.
~ There has been some criticism of the media for not giving more attention to this news.
~ However, Trump himself said that he didn’t know about the attempt until he saw media reports.

Candidates Weigh In On UK EU Referendum Result
~ While not direct news about the US election the decision of the UK to leave the EU of course has implications for world politics and the world economy.
~ While the span of those implications is beyond the scope of this newsletter we’ll take a look at what the candidates are saying.
~ Trump has been a vocal supporter of the UK leaving the EU and has congratulated them for reasserting “control over their own borders, politics and economy”.
~ Clinton has voiced her concern over the economic uncertainty that has been caused and says that the decision “underscores the need for calm, steady, experienced leadership in the Whitehouse”.
~ Sanders didn’t voice support for or against the decision but stated that the “global economy is not working for everybody” and “what worries me very much is the breaking down of international cooperation”.
