Hi gail is it true Dan and Jim wanted you to be part of rebirth but Geoff Johns said no but Dan enjoys working with you and offered you a vertigo series instead

I have no idea, but the Vertigo series was in place ages before Rebirth was even a notion so that part isn’t at all true. It doesn’t sound accurate.

I don’t pay any attention at all to backstage stuff anymore. I’m not good at politics, I’m the worst at it, I always seem to make things worse just by opening my mouth. That’s on me. So I stopped paying attention to it, regardless of publisher.

As far as I know, none of those three guys has a beef with me, we just all took a little break, and I frankly think very highly of them for different reasons. At some point in my career, each of them has done a hugely generous and kind thing for me that was hugely helpful, without expecting anything in return. I don’t forget stuff like that. I’ve had very nice meetings and discussions with Dan and Jim pretty recently and just had a nice email with Geoff about how much I enjoyed REBIRTH (which I really, really did, it felt like the DCU I love).

But I was offered stuff, I had some ideas, I’m sure I will work at DC again at some point. It still feels like my comics home, I love the people, love the characters, and REBIRTH has me really excited by the possibilities. I just was concentrating on creator-owned stuff for a while for a variety of reasons. I wanted to go on an adventure, and I’ve really enjoyed it.  But I still have a bunch of characters I miss, and there are some that I think could use some love. Who knows?
