sherlock wearing: the purple shirt

One of the things that hooks me about Sherlock (yes, I know it’s BC, but to me it’s just Sherlock, okay?) is this: here’s this tall, skinny guy and like many/most tall skinny guys you sort of expect him to be a bit gangly and awkward in his movements, and instead you get the epitome, the embodiment of grace. His movments are absolutely extraordinary, as if every one from head to toe is a beautiful balletic dance. Even adjusting his pants.

I am totally stuck on this fact also. Benedict is so brilliant (like many of his roles) that we imagine him to be a cerebral actor…and of course he is, but I really think his physical mastery is the core. It is the thing that makes him so diverse and just….. better..than all the others around him. He inhabits a character from the inside out and can turn from gangly to athletic and strikingly beautiful in the blink of an eye..(remember the table leap in TSOT!?). He really is a one off. We are lucky to be the generation that watches, and relishes and marvels.

Seconding all of that! He has so much range within every character he plays. For me, his Sherlock and Hamlet are right at the peak of his abilities. He’s just so amazing.
