Hi, Sable, thanks so much for hosting me today. I love reading everything you’ve written and especially love the things we’ve collaborated on, so this is a real honor and a pleasure for me. Let’s see what I can tell your readers about me.

1. Which three people (famous or otherwise) would you most like to invite to a dinner party?

Sam Elliott (I am sooo in love with him), Neil Diamond (still sexy at his age) and Linda Howard, who taught me to love romantic suspense.

2. Who has inspired you in your life and why?

Wow, there are so many people. Where do I start? My mother, who taught me my love of books and reading. Dr. Al Kelley, my American History professor, who taught me how to make words come alive. Robyn Carr and Sherryl Woods, whose books showed me what a good storyteller can do. My boss at Saint Leo University, Dr. Arthur Kirk, who taught me how to conquer worlds and showed me it can be done. And that’s probably just the tip of the iceberg.

3.How would your best friend describe you?

(Laughing!) Driven. Impatient. Funny. Loving. Dedicated. Impatient. Oh,wait, I already said that, but I think I can’t say it enough.

4.How do you handle criticism?

I try to handle it like an adult. Where my writing is concerned I soak it up because I think only through criticism can you learn and become  better. Just don’t criticize my cooking!!!

5. What three things do you need to be successful in this industry?

A talent for telling a story, a willingness to learn, and the drive to make it happen, never give up. you can’t or you’ll miss the boat when it comes along.

6.What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?

Okay, strengths: Drive to complete projects, willingness to learn, compassion for friends, love for my family, and wanting to put others before myself. Weaknesses: Impatience, impatience, impatience. Did I say impatience? LOL.

7. What type of writing environment do you prefer?

I love what I have now, a wonderful nook in my apartment where I can look out the sliders at the preserve and the water beyond, with my cats curled beneath me and the television playing because I can’t work in silence.

8. What was the first romance you read that stuck with you and why?

Cry No More by Linda Howard. First of all, it was a great story, very emotional. Secondly, I fell in love with her hero, Diaz. He still lives in my mind, I wrote my first book in an effort to create my own version of him. And it introduced me to romantic suspense, which after all my detours, is still my genre of choice.

9.Other than writing, what do you like doing in your spare time?

I read, a lot. Watch football and baseball. I exercise three times a week (oh wait, you said things I like!). And I like to spend time with my kids when I can and also my friends.

10. What is the title of the last book you wrote? Tell us how you relate to one of the characters.

The last book I wrote (not the last release) is Man of My Heart for Sable’s Hell Yeah Kindle World. It’s about a country singer. I spent a lot of years in the music business in another lifetime and loved it. Still do. I met so many interesting people and a lot of them are rolled into my heroine.

I’m including the info for Forward Pass , the first book in my football series, so I can tell everyone that for two more weeks only they can get it for just 99 cents . I am such a football addict, I loved writing this series. My hero is based on former college and NFL quarterback Brian Griese and there is a scene in the beginning of he book that actually happened on a plane trip with Brenna Zinn.

Step into the world of football and meet some very sexy guys. Forward Pass is Book #1 in the Game On series.

Get Ready to Play Rough

Shay Beckham grew up idolizing her brother’s best friend, star quarterback Joe Reilly. There was no one in their Texas town who had the moves to match Joe on or off the field. Years later, he’s still a player who has what it takes to drive any hot-blooded woman wild. But Shay isn’t a kid with a bad case of hero-worship anymore. She’s grown-up and independent, with her feet on the ground and a serious head on her shoulders. If she could just say the same for Joe.

It’s been fifteen years, but Joe Reilly hasn’t forgotten the skinny little kid who used to follow him around like a shadow. What he can’t get over is that the skinny shadow has grown into one hell of an incredible woman. One any man in his right mind would kill to get his hands on. And one who seems to be completely immune to him. He knows he and Shay could have something special together. If he could only convince her he’s about more than just the game.

Excerpt:

The taxi moved forward with a jerk and Shay’s eyes popped open. She leaned forward and tapped the driver on the shoulder.

“Did they clear away the wreck? We’re finally moving, right?”

“Yes, miss.” He shrugged. “But slowly.”

She rotated her neck, trying to work out some of the kinks. She’d been sitting in uncomfortable seats since she got in the shuttle to the airport and every muscle in her body ached. The hot shower was looking better and better. Or maybe she’d fire up the hot tub Hank had installed on the rear deck.

Hopefully, with all this delay caused by the wreck, by the time she got to the house Laura would be packed and gone. They pulled off the interstate and she mentally crossed her fingers and silently chanted, Let her be gone. But bad luck was still with her. When they turned onto her street and she spotted the car parked in the driveway, she swore under her breath. Laura Whoever was still here. Well, she’d better be getting ready to leave. Shay was in no mood to put up with bullshit. Sighing, she hauled her suitcase into the house, closed the door, and headed through the living room to her bedroom.

And stopped.

A hissing sound came from the shower in the bathroom connected to her bedroom and the guest room. Damn it! The least Hank could do was tell his little friends to use the master bath and leave hers alone. He had, after all, promised her that she’d have complete privacy.

“I travel a lot,” he’d told her. Then grinned. “And I’ll keep the sleepovers to those times you’re in New York.”

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

So how come this female hadn’t gotten the message she was supposed to be gone?

Crap! The door wasn’t even closed. Clouds of steam billowed in the bathroom and obscured the figure in the frosted-glass shower enclosure. Okay, enough was enough.

Shay stepped into the bathroom and banged her hand on the glass.

“This is my bathroom,” she ground out. “I’ve had a tough day and you don’t want to mess with me. Next time use Hank’s bathroom. This one is off-limits. Get your ass out of here in five seconds, or I won’t be responsible for my actions.”

She turned away, not the least bit interested in a glimpse of Laura Whoever’s nudity. She just wanted her out of the house.

The water stopped and the door slid open.

“Okay. I don’t want to cause you any more stress. But Hank said I should use this one.”

The deep voice shocked her and she turned around before she even thought about it. And nearly swallowed her tongue. A very wet, very naked Joe Reilly stood in her shower stall, grinning at her.

Just when she’d finally made up her mind to stop thinking about him and obsessing over him.

At that exact moment her cell phone chimed. A message from Hank.

“BTW, Joe’s in town, Take good care of him.”
