How Well You Walk Through Madness

Now taking Poetry

How Well You Walk Through Madness follows the Beat tradition and is seeking short fiction of no more than 5500 words. We are looking for stories that get capture ordinary madness of life. Send us the last little hope before getting a boot to the face. Send us experimental fiction littered with philosophies on a mission to corrupt us. Essentially, we’re looking for Beat fiction. Fiction that breaks the conventional norms of writing. Be an outsider. Think differently. Get weird and don’t be afraid. This anthology is inspired by the Beat Generation writers, a literary movement from the 1940’s and 1950’s that has been evolving ever since. How Well You Walk Through Madness is a paying anthology. Authors accepted will be paid ½ cent per word. Guidelines are listed below.

“What is Beat?”

Writers from the beat generation wrote some rather inspiring pieces. Most of the art that came out of this literary movement focused around the grungy aspect of the human condition. Beat is pretty much being human in every possible way. Beat is an exploration of people. It analyzes the lovesick, the poor, the insane, etc. Beat is real. It’s not necessarily Slice of Life. Slice of Life sometimes lacks the element of Suffering. Beat hones in on Suffering and makes it art. Beat is rebellious. Beat is where you get torn apart but it doesn’t get you down.

Payment: ½ Cent per word through Paypal, $5 per poem accepted
