I slam the five hundred dollars down on the table in front of him.
“What is that?”
“It’s your money. I made it tonight.”
He picks it up and counts it.
“Five hundred dollars in one night?”
“No dad not in one night, I got that from one costumer. Do you want to know how?”
“No, I don’t need the details.”
“Of course not because you don’t want to know what I have to do to get the money to pay for your debt.”
“I never forced you to pay for my debt.”
“No, but if I don’t who’s going to. And you know they will come after me, to get to you.”
“So I don’t have a fucking choice. I dance on a pole because it’s the only way I can make enough money to survive, and to pay off your debt.”
“You have a choice. You’ve always had a choice.”
