GRL Featured Blog: J.K. Hogan

Hi folks! I’m happy to be here on Elisa’s blog today talking about GRL, and my new release, Strong Medicine. This year will be my fourth trip to GRL, my third as an author, and my very first as a featured author. Despite my anxiety, I’ve always felt very comfortable at GRL, but I’m a nervous wreck over the whole public speaking aspect of a featured spot. I’m doing a Q&A on Thursday afternoon, so y’all think of some questions so I’m not hearing crickets the whole time! ;-)

But seriously, come see me any time at GRL. I love getting to know my fellow authors and especially my readers. I’m a reader too, so there’re plenty of people I’ll be fangirling over.

Also, I’ve just had a new book released from Wilde City Press called Strong Medicine. Here’s what it’s about:

Strong Medicine by J.K. Hogan
Publisher: Wilde City Press (May 18, 2016)
Amazon Kindle: Strong Medicine

Blurb: Two men who meet in a psychiatric institution couldn’t possibly find happiness together—could they?

The world seemed to be telling disgraced former child star and singer Cameron Fox that he would never be happy again. A drunken car accident gets him sentenced to a work-release at Riverbend Behavioral Health Facility.

Reclusive, traumatized writer Jonah Radley has an entire graveyard of skeletons in his closet. Jonah regularly hospitalizes himself for psychotic episodes caused by a horrific childhood trauma, his biggest secret—one he refuses to speak about in therapy.

Jonah and Cameron form a bond inside the hospital, forged in mutual pain and hope for a better life. Once they leave the hospital, they must decide if they are brave enough to explore the intricacies of living with mental illness—and find a new normal together.
