There was a rumor going on that you and Kelly Sue DeConnick were trying to get Erik Larsen blacklisted from the industry. What up with that?

Where do people come up with this shit?

First, I don’t believe Kelly Sue and I have ever had even a single conversation about Erik, not that I can recall. If she’s mad at him, I am not aware of it, or if I WAS aware of it, it was so inconsequential that I’ve completely forgotten.

Second, Erik is a FRIEND OF MINE. Holy shit, I can’t believe people make this nonsense up.  I got to know Erik while were were on a vacation in Glasgow and we are friends and are always happy to see each other and visit. I have a LOT of friends that some other people feel are too grumpy or whatever. But I think Erik’s a good guy and a lot of fun to hang with. I like to hear his opinions. We often disagree, we’ve had a couple whopper disagreements, but neither of us ever considered blocking the other. We’re friends.

Third, Erik is a FOUNDING PARTNER in the third largest comics publisher in the US. How in god’s name is this ‘blacklisting’ supposed to work? Puny writers don’t have that kind of power and if I DID, I wouldn’t have any interest in using it. People have a right to disagree.

Weird. What a huge heap of horseshit. What was it I was supposed to want him ‘blacklisted’ for?
