Are You Watching Through A Camera Lens?
"Kicking Cancer's Butt" Time Two
T.O.P.'s Tuesday: Counting my Steps & Blessings
“Those who walk
with God, always
reach their destination.”
― Henry Ford
Today was a challenging day for me. There were so many wonderful things that happened yet one moment keeps me awake, a moment that nearly broke my heart and had me second guessing myself. The educator and parent in me knows it was one of those "tough love" moments in life but it doesn't make the hurt easier to digest at the end of the day.
Have you experienced a day like this as a parent or educator? Life's lessons for our kids can be challenging. I've learned a lot in the past couple years about the strength and determination they have within themselves. Then there are those moments when I shake my head because the tender-softer side of me wrestles with doing what is right to help a child be the best he or she can be.
Why do I share this with you? I don't know to be honest with you unless it is to say, it's important to maintain our adult roles with the children in our lives so they can grow into responsible adults one day. Parenting and teaching are not easy tasks yet are the most important roles we play in the kiddos in our circle of influence. We never know when our words of encouragement or correction will be the words a child remembers twenty years from now. I learn from these moments more than I model and teach sometimes.
I hope to inspire, encourage, uplift, and educate the children and people I meet. I won't spend time focusing on the tough moments but instead I choose to celebrate the lessons taught and learned. No one ever said it was easy to educate, raise, and be a role model to the children in our lives BUT it is the most rewarding position we will ever hold. Enjoy and take it one step at a time. Taking it One Step at a Time with a Heart to Help & Educate...
