Typically I'll expect to find the lady of the house likes to read while her hubbie is more into watching sports or going fishing. This stereotype doesn't always apply. Often both spouses get a kick out of reading, maybe just not the same types of books.
For instance, I will sometimes dip into a sport figure's biography, something my wife probably wouldn't enjoy as much. I'm also a big fan of traditional Westerns, more of a male-oriented genre. Noir is an attraction for me, as well. (I don't know if I could name a handful of female noir or Western authors.) On the other hand, there are a few authors -- Walter Mosely springs to mind -- that we'll both always read.
