Divorce! It's Good for the Children!
When I asked my older daughter what she thought of my divorce from her father (she is 32), she said, "Do you really think I wish we had remained in that suffocating little four-person family?"

How old was she at the time ? I used to say that too but in reality it was quite the opposite. I used to say I was glad my parents had divorced to make myself feel better. Like a mantra. But now, aged 60, I can freely admit that it was the worst thing that ever happened to me. Worse than anything I’ve been through, including breast cancer with mastectomy & ten years of a bloated wound, black & blue, filled with pus & bacteria. Worse than sending someone to prison for nine years for what that person did to me. My parents separation & consequent divorce destroyed my world & the filled my new world with pain & suffering.
