Rain At Last!

Last night, at about three in the morning, I woke up to thunder. Rain was pouring down on the house, rattling on the cooler…the scent filled my little home and it was glorious. I must have lain awake an hour listening before it finally moved on and I went back to sleep.

This morning the local news reported that some areas received as much as eight tenths on an inch. Here in the desert, that's big news. Especially when it was the first measurable rain in 81 days.
