Increasingly I’ve been writing in longhand first then keyboarding what I’ve written. I did my latest National Novel Writing Month project almost entirely with pen and paper. It’s especially puzzling because my penmanship is so awful that I can find myself in the grocery store baffled by some unreadable entry on my shopping list.
Yet there’s something liberating about curling up in my writing chair with a lined yellow tablet and a pen. Maybe since I’m not at my desk, it doesn’t feel like work?
