Today's guest - Lucy Felthouse chatting about why paranormal stories keep flowing from her fingertips.
Lucy, it is so great of you to stop by. Please tell us about your love of all things paranormal.
Thanks, Lily :-)
I very much enjoy writing paranormal tales, erotic and romantic. There are many reasons why, but the main ones for me I suspect, are: I find it very absorbing when I read it and hope I can draw people in in the same way; there's always an element of danger and the unknown and finally; you get to make up your own rules.
When I started writing my f/f paranormal erotic romance, BITE WITH HEIGHT, I didn't worry about vampires being done to death, if you'll pardon the pun. I had a very definite – and impressive – setting in mind and I wrote with that focus and just hoped everything else would slot into place. Luckily, it did. I got to include elements of reality and fantasy in a romantic story and I even lost myself when I was writing it, which is always a good sign for me.
Here's the blurb for BITE WITH HEIGHT:

When Meg spots a young woman alone in the Pigalle district of Paris at night, she's intrigued. She has to know her story and find out why she looks so sad and alone. After introducing herself, Meg realizes that she and Grace have a lot in common. But when they decide to go and grab a drink together, they discover a mutual love that could bond them forever.
I have to say Lucy, I read this book last week and devoured it in one sitting, it's a great story. What else have you had out recently that falls into this sub-genre?
SUCCUBUS COMES HOME is another good example of a story I had lots of fun writing. Again, I love reading in that genre and felt it would be very easy to write an erotic succubus story – but to pull in a romantic element – that was more difficult. After giving it some thought, I thoroughly exploited the idea of making up my own rules and added a fun yet cute twist in the tale which changes everything. It's early days yet, but it's had some good comments so far – let's hope more readers enjoy what I did!
Here's the blurb for SUCCUBUS COMES HOME:

When Alice meets Antony in a bar, she's taken aback. As a succubus, Alice is well used to the love 'em and leave 'em lifestyle. But there's something intriguing about Antony and she can't put her finger on it. When the truth comes out about Antony, how will Alice react? Will she be willing to take a risk for love?
Note: This story has been previously published in the Cleis Press anthology, Dream Lover: Paranormal Tales of Erotic Romance.
This one looks intriguing, can't wait to get my hands on it! Thanks so much for stopping by today, Lucy and sharing the details of your erotic stories.
