New website…

New-Website-Blog-Post

For the past week, I have been reading about how authors shouldn’t put all their eggs in the Facebook basket by trying to keep an official website as their Facebook page. As great as the thought is and its the perfect concept, I can understand why it’s not that great of an idea.

THE PLUSES

One site to update.
Instant access to a big audience, especially if you promote.
Did I say, only one site to update?

THE MINUSES

Facebook may not be around for ever.
Not everyone in the world is a big fan of Facebook
If someone wants to know about me, they are gonna Google me, not Facebook me.
Double work with updating various sites with book information.
Not a lot of traffic will surface on your website until you are really popular.
It costs money, every month.

Yeah, the minuses do out weigh the pluses. But, I still always felt weird not having a website for myself. I mean, I have one for everything else. I had one before that I let go after I released girl/Mistress because I wanted to give up on writing. I guess it comes down to I have to stop quitting things. I really do because 9x out of 10, I will come back to it in a year and will be mad that I gave up everything about it.

So the website, I hope will grow as I do as a writer and maybe one day, I will be posting book signings and events. Meanwhile, it will be a little informational site about my works. Hope you all enjoy. Thanks!

J
