Sad news from the Walker Percy Weekend: our friend Franklin Evans took a spill on the stairs at the courthouse after the morning lecture, and broke his leg. He will have orthopedic surgery at 4:30 this afternoon, then fly home to Philly tomorrow. He’s in typically great spirits. Don’t worry about him; he’s among friends who love him; we will take care of him. But I’m so sorry for him, and, to be honest, for all of us. He was headed to lunch with Bernie, David J. White, and other blog friends.
