I knew this would happen...




It's always such a lovely thing when someone reads one of your books, and then takes the time to write you you and let you know that they enjoyed it. The first time it happens, it's actually kinda surreal, and even after it's happened a few times, it never gets old.I got home this afternoon to find a card on my desk. rivka It is a line that when you cross, you risk irritated readers. The angriest email I ever sent an author was after reading's OSC's short story "Lost Boys". In the novel he changed names (in part due to reactions like mine!), but in the short he did not. And he stuck very closely to many other biographical details . . .

I still cannot reread either the short or the novel (I read the short twice and the novel once, barely), precisely because crossing that line is so powerful.

Anthony Eaton I know. I realised when I wrote the book that this device was going to be powerful, but I don't think I really understood just how powerful.
