Huntsman walking it back: 'Redefining Marriage Is Something That Would Be Impossible'

Sensing a fundamentalist uprising because of his statement yesterday that he would respect states that have marriage equality in place, former Utah governor Jon Huntsman "clarifies" his view on marriage in a way that makes him appear to be a dumb@ss:

HUNTSMAN: I think redefining marriage is something that would be impossible and it's something I would not be in favor of. But I believe, just subordinate to marriage we have not done an adequate job in the area of equality and reciprocal beneficiary rights. I've spoken out about that, my support of civil unions, some people like it, some people don't.

Of course this statement makes no sense since the institution of marriage has changed myriad times...

At one point blacks couldn't marry one another.Interracial couples couldn't marry.Women were the property of men.So this latest PHB 2012 Clown Car occupant would prefer to be seen as clueless rather than walking his beliefs back to coddle the far right fringe professional bigots. Too bad for Obama's former Ambassador to China that he's off to such a stellar start.
