Thorn looked at him and arched a brow. “Or what?” He turned to Beth, pulled her face to his, and laid his mouth over hers in an elaborate kiss that ended with a loud smacking sound. When he stepped back, he dipped his hands in his pockets, and gave Donovan a devilish grin.
 
Seeing Thorn’s mouth on Beth’s sent Donovan’s blood roaring through his veins like a volcanic eruption. “You’re lucky I can’t get out of this bed, or you’d be on the floor with your own black eye.”
 
Beth shoved Thorn’s shoulder. “Don’t tempt him. He already tried to get up to avenge my honor.”
