Final New Yorkers for Marriage Equality Video released; rally in Albany today

HRC released its 51st and final video featuring iconic and everyday New Yorkers for marriage equality. The video tells the story of what this campaign is, has been, and continues to be all about -- using a montage of actors, sports figures, politicians, and everyday people who have appeared previously in the group's video campaign.

"This has been an incredible campaign. We are in the home stretch. We are grateful to all New Yorkers who lent their voices to the fight for equality," said HRC Senior New York Strategist, Brian Ellner. "Their efforts and participation helped people realize that support for marriage equality is about basic fairness for all New Yorkers."

Featured in the videos: WWII Veteran Edward Hinz, Uma Thurman, Cyndi Lauper, Steve Tisch, Harold Ford, Jr., Michael Strahan, Ben & Jerry, Broadway Actors, Vanessa Williams, Anna Wintour, Larry King, Sean Avery, Julianna Margulies, Bill T. Jones, Sam Waterston, Christopher Meloni, Mario Batali, David Chang, Tom Colicchio, Lucy Liu, Bill Bratton and Rikki Klieman, Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Former New York City Mayors Ed Koch and David Dinkins, Russell Simmons, Mark and Sunrise Ruffalo, John Slattery, Joan Rivers, Barbara Bush, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Whoopi Goldberg, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon, Fran Drescher, Moby, Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe, Julianne Moore and Kenneth Cole.

Today there will be a rally in Albany. More from yesterday's email from Congressman Jerry Nadler (D-NY8):

We are at a critical moment for advancing civil rights in New York, and your voice could make the difference. The New York State Senate will most likely be voting any minute on Governor Cuomo's marriage equality bill that has already passed the Assembly. Please join our allies at New Yorkers United for Marriage for a Rally for Love and Marriage at noon tomorrow, June 21st, outside the Capitol in Albany. Free buses are departing Manhattan at 9AM and returning 3PM. RSVP and reserve your seat on the bus to Albany soon as possible to Meagan Cassidy at meagan.cassidy@hrc.org, 202 628-4160 or Stephen Anderson at stephen.anderson@hrc.org, 202.716.1650.

More details about the Rally for Love and Marriage in Albany tomorrow are at this link: click here for the facebook invitation.

And after we win marriage equality for all New Yorkers with your help, we will march in the Heritage of Pride Parade on Sunday, June 26th. I hope you will join me at the parade. If you are interested in marching with me to show your solidarity with the LGBT community, please email rsvp@jerrynadler.com for more details. We will be marching from 39th and 5th Avenue down to the West Village on Sunday, starting at 11:15AM.

Thank you for doing what you can to help our state become the 6th in the country to enact marriage equality for all. The time is now!
