Short-Term Pain for Long-Term Gain
Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
Proverbs 15:10
God always gives us a choice. And as Solomon points out above, there may be pain with either choice. It is painful when we have to acknowledge that we have failed to meet God's standards for our life. Correction is never pleasant. However, the long-term pain is much greater and longer lasting! When we refuse to admit our error, the ramifications are far reaching and not pleasant to think about.
