I've decided that revising a book is like spring cleaning! I have to take out a lot of junk and get rid of it, and then straighten up what is leftover. With spring cleaning, it feels good to clean out and get rid of so much stuff I don't need. Just like with revising a manuscript.
The good thing with a book is that even if you have to keep cleaning it up, eventually it will be ready to publish and that will be that. With spring cleaning, it seems the junk just continually piles up.
The good thing about revisions is like spring cleaning, it feels great to make the work better. The bad thing is it doesn't add much in the line of word count. Take out a sentence here. Add a sentence here. Take out a sentence there.
*sigh*
But I did make some headway on Heart of the Jaguar even at that. 14,000 words to go. Oh, if I could take off work next week and finish it, that would make my week!
Since I can't, I'm off to write what I can today!!! And make some more headway on spring cleaning!
Have a super day!
