It's horrible. And I heard the most wishy washy discussion of it on NPR this morning. WEAK SAUCE.
It's so disrespectful to his character and to the Jewish writers who created his character as an image of hope during WWII. It just goes against everything Cap's character stands for...

I agree! What in the World! Captain America's character is the reason everyone loves him, and I would even go as far as to say that it's why he's a hero in the first place. Without his goodness, he's just another super soldier....big whoop. And I REFUSE to believe that! It's heart-wrenching, really. I love that "He's good for the sake of being good," as Chris Evans said in an interview of the making Captain America: The First Avenger. It's just NOT cool! I'm hoping this is all just some sort of brainwashing tactic and he'll overcome it because of the strength of his pure soul (lol) OR he's doing it because he's infiltrated HYDRA as a double-agent of some sort and he's trying to make sure they think he's on their side, when he's really the same Cap he's always been (just a little more cunning). **crossing fingers and holding back tears**
