Get a longer couch.

Comic

Sophie does actually do this in real life. And she will always steal your spot if you get off the couch. Her first words could easily be "I don't see your name on it".

And now I'm waiting for the tech to arrive from ADR (a data recovery company). They will take away my little lego external hard drive and in a few days, ransom my data for an exorbitant fee. Normally I'd try a few more things on my own before spending the money on data recovery, but the death rattle noise that came from the 250gig brick tells me that it's out of my league now.

Of course this is all my fault. I always preach triplication in data backup. However, I had put off signing up for an online backup service that also worked across networks and covered external drives. So live and learn. Trying out Mozy.com. I believe that they cover external hard drives however I am not seeing that tidbit of info anywhere anymore. Hmmm.

Carbonite keeps my laptop and desktop squarely protected. Which is critical, cause every DeD strip is sitting in my rather aged desktop. Wish it had covered the external drive. You see, I had moved all the megaton load of original PSD's from "The Prince's New Pet" over to said hard drive with every intention of then getting the online backup for it. Yet, the universe decided to toss in a well timed, once in the 4 year life of the drive, fall off the table. Well played Universe. Well played.

On a happier note, you can check out my progress on coloring the webcomic for "The Conjurers" here:
