I was sitting here yesterday, vegging out and watching the 'what if apocalypse' programming on the History Channel (depressing shit), and it occurred to me: how well would LGBT people cope in the aftermath of a nuclear or biological disaster? I mean this as a group. There would be no technology, so we couldn't really search other gay survivors out. Some of us might be the only surviving gay for miles. And, as well know, after a disaster people get
very religious. This religious fervor would open the gates for the fanatics. I can't see that it would be a very safe world for LGBT folk, or indeed any minority. I need to research to see if anyone has written a book on this subject. It would be an interesting read to a few of us, I'm sure. I don't know if I have the cynicism to write something like that.
