Let's just hope everything will be okay again ... I couldn't help but cry 'till the end. I really hope you're master plan works out :)
If it's not fixed in the next book, I'm not sure I'll continue on. This book ruined my whole weekend!
I know, I was so happy that everything seemed to turn out like it was supposed to and then that happens :^)
I'm still a fan.....Sometimes change is difficult for readers. But have a little faith that things will work out for the growth of the series. Immortality can be boring with the same faces repeating the same drama.
I was shocked by what happened, but thought it made for an amazing ending. But BUMMER BUMMER BUMMER!

Stop giving Chloe ultimatums its her book there are plenty of people who will continue to read no matter what happens
I am trying to have faith. I loved the first three books. I loved most of "Hard Bitten." It is going to have to be good to keep going on with this series. There are just so many series out there in the same genre. My biggest question is who is going to be introduced now that part of the "snarky" factor has need diminished.
Now I'm over my initial shock, I can't wait to see where you take things from here! Since I've loved all the books so far, I'm definitely giving the benefit of the doubt and don't see why that's going to suddenly change. If You weren't such a good writer and given us such wonderful characters, you couldn't upset me so much and make me so mad. And that's very much meant as a compliment!
I just finished Hard Bitten yesterday and I have to say, OMG... Now what? When's the next one coming out, I am completely hooked!
The new one's coming out in November (I think) ... It's way to long to wait though :)
The realism in the books is one of the biggest reasons (other than the excellent writing, ofc!!) I am a fan. Its actually kind of silly to expect anyone, much less supernatural people, to be under constant threat of attack and never have anything bad happen to them. Or for relationships to grow strained as the people adjust to a new and completely opposite lifestyle. I know much of what I read could be classified as escapist fantasy, but I want it to be as realistic as possible otherwise its like watching (hehe) a Lifetime show or reality TV(which I thought was a very clever way to show what supernatural creatures like as escapism TV). Don't try to make me believe that someone can do martial arts in 6 inch heels, that becoming a supernatural or developing supernatural powers doesn't change you, or that supes live charmed lives where nothing goes wrong and they never get hurt.
I love these books and think they are very like George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series - realism, politics, and human (or superhuman) natures. And I suspect there may be a prophecy that clears this all up. ;)
Well, maybe we'll learn what Gabe's prophecy is :)
I finished the book and I was shocked!!! But I'm still a fan and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
I've just started reading the Chicagoland series. I read the first and couldn't stop until I'd reached and devoured Hard Bitten on the fourth day. I was so emotionally engrossed in the characters - which is what an author wants - tears streamed down my eyes as I finished Hard Bitten around midnight. It's the intensity that drew me into this series at the instance our fledgling and master meet. That scene was dynamic as the heat between Ethan and Merit was born. Even with the disappointment coming from a few readers, the attention the posts get will draw more readers to the Chicagoland Vampire Series. I look forward to biting into the next installment. A girl can never have too many vampire series.:)
OMG..I have not read this book yet. I'm on book 3. I'm really really scared now :( Dear god...I'll have to wait until my husband leaves then so he doesn't see me cry my eyes out over god knows what's coming next. Ahh...this is such a good series. It reminds me of KMM's Fever series.
