Freebies & Paperbacks On the Way!
I’ve been blown away by the response to my short fiction story, One of Those Days. I wrote it specifically as a freebie because this year hasn’t been a terribly productive one for me. As far as working on the new novel goes, it’s been a slow slog. VERY slow. My readers have always been loyal to me and so I wanted to show my appreciation by offering free stories until I manage to get the novel, Village of Styx, written.
But, I never expected One of Those Days to get the feedback it has. Initially I was concerned my somewhat quirky sense of humor may not go over well. I’m thrilled to know that wasn’t the case. Writing free fiction has its own rewards, mainly being able to put a smile on people’s faces. Being able to make people laugh is something I love being able to do through fiction. And, who doesn’t love a freebie, right?
Well, Alex and Ric, the two leading men in One of Those Days, have been nagging at me quite loudly. It seems they have a whole lot more to say about themselves and their relationship. The plot for the sequel, One of Those Weeks, is developing nicely in my head. There are also ideas for two more afterward. Perhaps, depending on the response for the sequels, I may eventually put all the stories into print. We’ll see what happens.
Speaking of print – The Curtis Reincarnation is nearly done with the edits but is still in my partner’s hands at the moment. The print version should be available fairly soon. I’ll keep you posted on the progress. Also, The Slayer’s Apprentice will be available as a paperback, but probably not until the end of the year at least. By the time poor Myc finishes ‘Curtis’, I’m sure he’ll need a break! Yes, I’m well aware of all the errors in the story and the print version has been rewritten, fixed up, tightly edited and proofread several times. Slayer will get the same treatment, as will anything else that goes into paperback.
So, for now I’m shelving Village of Styx while I work on One of Those Weeks. I need a week or so away from the novel to regain my sanity before the damn thing sends me to psychiatric ward!!
