Some of these I've already read, but I've never heard of Dead(ish) before. I'll have to pick it up!

Starfire Angels is sooo pretty! And it looks interesting. It's free, so I'll pick it up. Thanks for listing these!
Thanks for my morning giggle, Kate. I'm glad you liked my novella, and yup, I am a tad light on character descriptions. Most readers don't seem to care, but for some, those details are really important to their reading experience. Sorry to leave you hanging :).Since you write, I'll offer up why - it's how I move through my world. I don't notice physical characteristics often (it drives my husband crazy when I can't describe the new person I just talked to for ten minutes!). That makes them difficult for me to write. What I am is a person who lives inside her own head, so you get *lots* of internal monologue, instead.
I suspect you feel like I do when I read a book with lots of physical description, but almost nothing of a character's thoughts :).

I just want to say, other than that little thing, your book was a great read! That is why I recommended it. Hope your freebie leads to lots of new readers!
Thanks :). Others notice, too - you're not the only. It's something I'm tangling with in other things I write as well - if and how much to go down that road. I'm glad people enjoy my books without a lot of character descriptions, but that doesn't mean including a few would be a terrible thing. I appreciate your comments - all of them :).

My own writing tends to have a lot of inconsistencies, because I forget little details like... how a person's name is spelled. Or how long ago an event happened. And they get pointed out to me again and again by my beta readers, and then my editor.
I need to be more organized. I tried to get a notebook to write all this stuff down, but that worked for about halfway through the first half of Compis. Bad writer, Kate. :)
Ha ha ha. Yeah. I have a bunch of witch characters in my series, with different kinds of magic. In the first book, it was easy - I just gave them whatever magic was convenient. Now I'm writing book two, and I never wrote down those niggling little details. Oops.I keep trying to get organized, too. Except I organize one thing, and then it's another thing I need ;-P.
Well, the upside of no character descriptions is that you get to imagine them any way you want.... I haven't read the novella yet, but I find that Kate usually likes the same things I do, so, I will probably try this one!
I'll have to ask my readers that one day, Wallene - how do you think XX character looks? The answers might surprise me. I have a four-year-old witchling in my series that looks very much like my son, but I'm pretty sure all I say in the book is that he has curly hair :).If you think you might like to try Matchmakers 2.0, you might grab it from amazon today - this is the fifth day for the free promo, and last time they only ran it for five days.
Personally, I hope anyone who reads this tries the books I listed. I'm a couple of chapters into Demon Girl right now and it's definitely compelling!BTW, Debora, it is soooo cute that you put your son in your book. Haven't had the opportunity to do that yet. :)
