About Leo

Leo & Lily releases for Kindle this weekend. I started writing this story with an image of Leo in my head. I fell in love with him as a character, and it drove the development of the story.

Who is Leo? He's nineteen, born and raised in Sunnyside, Queens. He's had the same two best friends since elementary school, but now they're starting to divert in different life directions. He thought he'd play baseball for a living, until...

Ever since his five-year-old sister, Lily, was born, he's been seeing demons. Because of this, he's been labeled a schizophrenic. He's been in and out of juvenile detention. He's on probation and on his last chance before jail. He's used drugs and sex and alcohol to dull the situation - but he's also used humor, stayed close to his family, and legitimately tried to be good.

At a party, he meets Dan and Delia Mendez, siblings who help lead him to the truth about why he sees demons.

Leo's journey toward his destiny is a lot about finding the strength to face his demons - literal and figurative - head on. He also has to come to grips with his sexuality, his changing friendships, and his notion of family.

I enjoyed writing this story. I hope others enjoy reading it.
