Does it bother you that readers don't consider your comics indie anymore? Certainly they are still alt? If comics were sectioned into genres like novels are in a bookstore where would you shelve your own books? I dream of the day that superhero comics can

A big part of my career is that In coming up I didn’t feel like my work fit in Indy comics or mainstream. I guess what I do tends to be Sci-fi, and I’d be more than cool being in that section.

I don’t think I’ll ever be considered mainstream by anyone, just because I wont work for Marvel or DC. (because fuck those guys) But I would be more than happy if the stuff I did was ever seen as Ghost world, mainstream. but I’m not reallly holding my breath.

I do have a theory that live action superhero movies and tv shows tend to weaken the comics as the best place that makes superhero stuff. When done well in film, the comics start to feel like less of the REAL version of the characters. Like Iron man or Jessica Jones.
