BC definitely looks trashed. That stubble has not been trimmed in any way.

I watched Granada’s “The Dying Detective” last night and man, Jeremy Brett really looked ghastly when he was “dying” (it was all faked for a case). So this extremely unkempt BC would definitely be in line with that. Assuming this suit is not what he’d be filming in, and adding make-up like undereye circles, he could certainly go for the “dying” look here.

If they do use “The Dying Detective” for E2 (which is pure speculation atm), I hope John is in on the ruse in this version. Poor guy’s been through enough grief over Sherlock’s supposed death.
