GUESS WHAT?

I will be able to hire an editor for the second book of the Oddily series. I can't even begin to tell you how relieved I am. With Oddily, I spent a year on editing because I had to RE-EDIT 22 chapters after I lost them from a computer mishap. The other reason is that some typo's have raised thier ugly heads after Oddily was published. I don't want a repeat performance with book #2 because reader's deserve a clean read.

Also, I'm still figuring out how to best use Goodreads, and right now I'm fretting over how to make friends. Big deal...right? You just push a button and there you go. You have a new friend, or you don't. What can I say, except that SHYNESS SUCKS!

Jeanine Hi, Linda. I think the best way to market your works on goodreads is to join the groups. I am a member of the "Love Paranormal Romance" group and I have made a few friends on there just by chatting about books.
I have yet to finish editing my first book (I am three chapters away from being done), but I think the friends I have made on here may actually buy my book when it's out,(not that any of them actually know about my book-in-progress). Just a thought :)

Linda Pohring Hi Jeanine...Three chapters left? How exciting! Thank you for your unput on marketing. I've been so busy writing, I haven't had much time for reading. There's quite a few titles I'm interested in, so I think I'll reserve weekends for some catching up. That way I can chat up a storm...LOL

Jeanine Haha... I know what you mean. I have a hard time peeling myself away from a good book to write. It is definitely wise to focus on your writing without the distraction of awesome books :) If I were you, I would still join the groups and get a bit of chat time in. I think it is a great way to relate to people because reading is the one thing we all have in common on this site :)

Linda Pohring I'm curious. Do you have a title picked out for your book yet?

message 5: by Jeanine (new)

Jeanine Funny that you brought that up. I thought I did, but today my friend, who is reading my finished chapters, suggested that the title might give a bit of the ending away.... so, I'm in redevelop mode :)

Marsha Hi Linda:
I just finished reading Oddily and I just loved it! One suggestion I would like to make to you is when I finish reading a book that is part of a series, I automatically like to list the next book in the series in my to read box so that I can buy it when it is available. By having it in my 'to read' box I don't forget about the sequel. I know you have a title for the 2nd book in the series but I could not find it in the goodreads archives yet. You might want to add it so that others can remember to obtain it when it is available.
Thanks!
Marsha

Linda Pohring Hi Marsha. Your review made me smile. Also, I want to thank you for the tip on displaying the second book. Right now, I'm tryong to figure out how to accomplish that task. I'm sure it's simple. (Haha!)

Marsha Don't feel bad, my daughter laughs at my tech skills (if you want to call them that!)

Linda Pohring I have a question. How long does it take for your review to show up on my page? Obviously, I'm happy with what you wrote and want to share it.

Jeanine Marsha, it was your review of Linda's Oddily, that made me want to buy the book sooner than I planned :) I bought it last night and started it this morning. So far, I'm loving it.

Marsha Trust me, you will not regret it. I cannot wait until the next book is out!
