Let's talk Halloween!
All throughout October I have witness many of my Christian friends (realize I said Christian and not unbelievers) continually growl and complain and confess October 31 as the devils, the devils birthday, the black sabbath and so forth. Does it take a genius to realize that it is ONLY the Christians who proclaim this day for satan himself. Whether you celebrate Halloween or not, the moment profess this day for satan then it is indeed his. I have not yet met one unbeliever or Christian that celebrates Halloween give any attention to the devil in any way, but I have many Christian friends that are determined to proclaim for the highest mountain tops that TODAY IS SATANS DAY! It matters not whether they go inside and lock their doors and hide... it's already been proclaimed. This is where we come into embracing peace rather than fighting adversity. When you begin to fight you add the negative energy of your fighting to the situation. Thus, sending it barreling forward and tearing through everything in it's path. Whether you win or not, the damage will be done.
I have proclaimed on everyday prior to this day and will continue everyday after this day that THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HATH MADE! If you don't like what this holiday is about, stop growling, stop hiding behind your closed door and flicking OFF your light. Make it another day to celebrate the Lord who made this day! This day belongs to GOD just as every other day. No one gives it to the devil but those of you out their proclaiming for the devil.
One of my church family spoke to the children today about how tonight unlike any other night of the year strangers will open their doors and give free candy that they bought with their own money and he compared it to how Jesus always answers the door and always gives freely. Why, if you don't like the holiday can you not simply make it another day to celebrate God in some way, such as Kyle did in church today? You may say because today is the devil's day... well, I tell you the Lord does not hide in the shadow of the devil! His light shines eternally. Celebrate HIM now! Have your kids collect donations for charities instead of candy, allow them to give their candy to kids who never get any, hand out the little bibles when the kids come to your door, or some other type of spiritual gift. When they leave tell them Jesus loves them! Instead of hiding from the devil celebrate the man who defeated him!
The Lord is not hiding this night.... are you?
