Interview with Victoria Loren, a Blind Trust
Today is author spotlight. We are fortunate to have with us, the exciting Victoria Loren.
What inspires you to write?
I am inspired by nature, art, and life.
The first time I walked into a public library as a child, I was inspired by the tall, stacks of countless books. I remember touching the books, the smell of the pages, spellbound by the colorful photos and story that had the power to transform the world. The gift I received from the author’s work was one that has remained with me to this day.
Where do you get your ideas from?
My hope and dream in life are to inspire others. I believe we all have a voice and that just one voice can make a difference. Life provides countless visions and inspirations for me. I see the world through the eyes of an artist, and love to give the images a voice, which is never monotone, by any means. I am a new author and will continue to learn and develop my style with each novel so my ideas and inspirations will change. The journey has been incredible, and I am excited and thankful to have my family and friends support me.
Then there is heritage, I am Scottish/Irish, French/Indian, and a Scorpio. So any way you look at it, that is a powerful combination.
Which trope would you never use?
I try to keep my language and tone true to the characters role without venturing too far from my comfort zone. Sometimes it involves learning new phrases or colorful speech patterns, which can be very enlightening.
If you could collaborate with any author, who would it be?
I love the idea of working together with other authors, Indie and otherwise to promote a good cause. I am honored to have the opportunity to be a published author and look forward to new adventures.
What makes you unique as an author? Set’s you apart?
I never dreamed it would be possible for me to become a published author. After the death of my father, writing provided a means for me to find a new direction in my life. While writing truly is my passion, during this period of my life, it became a spiritual healing for me. The emotion of such a great loss empowered a greater feeling of love and peace. I am extremely proud of the completion and publication of Blind Trust. The treasured manuscript was written over ten years ago, and through the support of my family and friends; I found the courage to seek publication.
I believe, each author brings different views, standards and qualities to their work. I will always work hard to improve and continually strive to learn and grow as a writer. My writing reflects an artistic, poetic style and balances a realistic view with fantasy. The dark undertone interlaced with a little romance is a powerful mix and totally unpredictable.

What books had the biggest impact on your writing?
I love to read most genres and hope that I can continue to broaden my scope with each new author I encounter. I love reading indie authors and appreciate the hard work and devotion to the process. I have always loved thrillers/suspense/mystery/romance genres. Iris Johansen, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Tammy Hoag, Anne Rice, Patricia Cornwell and John Grisham to name a few.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I am an artist and love graphic design, photography, and art. Nature not only provides a canvas for inspiration but is also relaxing and restores a balance in my life.
How do you market your books?
Marketing has been a blast and a venture that I love. Designing new teasers, book swag, and venturing into the world of social media has been fun and a little frightening. Who ever thought Victoria H. Loren would be tweeting LOL!
