Restarting Work on SWEET BYTES
*This stone carving of a barn owl is from an Ancient Egyptian Hierglyph. The barn owl represented what we know as the letter 'M.' If you've read my stories, you know that a barn owl named Princess likes to follow Ophelia around. I'll explain why in Sweet Bytes, the next full-length novel in the series, set right after Sugar Rush.*.
Well, now that Crushed Sugar is launched, it's time I got back to work on Sweet Bytes, the next full-length novel in the series.
.
I'm a very organic writer by nature, but that's a very inefficient way for me to write. I have a very full life with my four children. I don't have the Time and I do have the Tendonitis. When I get on the computer, I have to make the most of every stroke and moment. I've had to learn to *outline* and it
s no fun at all. It does save me a massive amount of time and frustration though. I create the story in my head first. I start outlineing when I start writing the story down. I continue outlineing as I write. After the first horrible draft, I rework the outline and 'beat it out' to make certain everything is where it ought to be.
.
Today, I am working on the Sweet Bytes Outline again. I've shifted a few scenes around. I've created a new scene and I have absolutely no freakin' idea where in the story it goes, but it definitely goes in there somewhere because it won't go away.
.
Once I've finished reworking the Outline, again, I'll get back to the actual writing, hopefully, by tomorrow. Then, I can post a wordcount on the sidebar. I'm dearly hoping to get Sweet Bytes to my editors by the end of May, if not sooner. My summer this year looks to be very busy, so I've got to stay on schedule.
.
Also, I have a short story or novella set in the The Ophelia Dawson Chronicles. It's told from Tristan's point of view. I'd already tucked in one from Bianca's point of view. Maybe I'll hammer out one of those in June and see if Decadent wants it.
.
In any case, my hands are killing me, so I need to get off the computer and prepare for my children's morning stampede.
