90 Day Novel Exercise-Character Sketch
I just downloaded the writing book 90 Day to Your Novel on my Kindle. One of the exercises is to go back and do a character sketch.
Well, it's been awhile since I last did this with my characters in CROSSED OUT. Right now I've been working on the sequel. I had fun going to one site to chose photos that kind of reflect my image of my characters. **This would be kind of fun to do if you were putting together a play, movie, or even video!
STEPHANIE
Since we last heard from here she seems to have more going for her. NOT. She's sixteen, still has a trust issue going on with her mother and yes, the dead still visit her. Let's just say she'll find out more about her calling and how her own family is involved.
She loves chocolate, Dylan, art, and just being what could pass off as being normal. Too bad it doesn't seem to last.
DYLAN
Dylan's seen alot and still not sure what to do with all this. And that includes his relationship with Stephanie. More stuff is going to be thrown his way** Hey, it wouldn't be a story without some conflict!
Dylan loves hitting the next big wave, the ocean, Stephanie(though she confuses him more than he'd like), his classic Toyota truck, and also leans strongly on his faith.
CURA
Cura's kind of been held in the dark about Stephanie's extra curricular activities and let's just say in CROSS FIRE, this comes to a head. I mean, they are BFF, right? So why the flippin' secrets? She's going to become more active and even will play a more central part.
Cura loves hitting Forever 21, friends, texting, huge double chocolate chunk cookies, playing with haircolor, honesty, and Ruby's.
HILLARY
Oh, Hillary. Seems the whole Karma thing is going to come around and bite your little size 0 tush big time in this sequel. She'll find out more about Stephanie that she wants to. Yes, she'll still be a b*tch but I'm fleshing her out more to show some of her fears and vulnerabilities especially over something that 'happens' to her. Can her and Stephanie become friends again? Maybe...or not.
Hillary loves being in the spotlight. She's even listed in the local talent agency book as a model though she doesn't like the hard work. Ps-ssh, that's our little secret. She loves shopping, being around hunky college guys, facials, energy drinks(which are so great for dieting), and tanning booths.
I'm still looking for photos of Dr. Anthony and Stephanie's mother plus another family member who shows up with a secret that will affect everyone and not in a good way.
