Building a Signed Book Collection?

(ATTN Writers: I have a list of author services, including critiques by agent interns and freelance editors over at the "other" blog. )

For some reason, it wasn't until I became an author that I became interested in collecting signed books. Maybe it's the personal connection I feel to the author, even if I wasn't actually there when they signed. But most of mine, really, were signed specifically for me and those will be the books I cherish forever.

I've met these authors or, at least, chatted with them online. They may not all be uber-famous or NYT bestsellers, but I have a personal connection to them. And having their book signed by them proves it...and something I can hang onto forever.
