Email of the Week: Unions

Second edition of the emails of the week in response to my shows on unions in Wisconsin and the absurdity of PUBLIC employees having unions in the first place - to deal with their adversarial employers? The PUBLIC?

I am a police Sgt on duty listening to your show. I am a union member and a government employee and a tax payer. I see the need to make cuts I do not see why the unions must be rendered powerless to achieve this. We are facing more cuts to the police department but our union has agreed to open our contract and negotiate to save jobs.

I m a Union Retiree. Worked for a Grocery Store in Southern California for 19 years that was a Union Job. United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1442.
