Equality NC launches statewide Equality in Action tour this week to fight marriage amendment
With the GOP in control in the General Assembly for the first time since Reconstruction (a result of the disastrous 2010 midterms), if this bill goes to a vote, the legislature could pass it, despite polling that shows more than half of North Carolinians support relationship recognition for LGBT couples.
And our governor cannot veto it - it goes to the ballot, specified in the bill as 2012, to strategically bring out the wingnut vote.
ENC is going to fight this. Donate, please because we'll need boots on the ground and bux in the pocket to fight off NOM (you know they see this as a potential victory):
Wondering what you can do to make a real difference in our fight against LGBT discrimination? This spring, join other fair-minded North Carolinians "in action."
